Best Dressed at the SAG Awards: Drum Roll Please…

Best Dressed at the SAG Awards

Two major award shows have happened so far, and I haven’t been overwhelmed with the fashion choices so far. Before I get started, I do want to mention that while I have found the styles boring, for the most part, I appreciate the fact that there seems to be a style shift. I cannot be the only one that is tired of seeing endless sheer dresses after so many years. Fingers crossed that these new red carpet trends carry over to the BAFTAs and Oscars.

While the Golden Globe Awards looks left me saying “meh”; I found a few styles at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards that I enjoyed, so I thought I would write about them.

Best Dress

First up is Scarlett Johansson in a teal Armani Prive fitted gown.

The color, fit and style of the dress made it a knockout look. She kept her jewelry simple, with diamond drop earrings and bracelets, and let the dress speak for itself. It helped ensure that focus wasn’t pulled away from how stunning the fit was on her.

I find that teal is an underrated color. I think more people should incorporate it into their wardrobe – myself included!

I’m on the hunt for one, Shop Style and Nordstrom showcase some different styles at different price points if you are too!

Tied for Best Dress

Tied for best dressed is Zoe Kravitz in a peach column gown by Oscar de la Renta.

Some news outlets say she was channeling Jackie Kennedy Onassis. Others compared her look to Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Whoever Zoe was “channeling”, I love the look. From the unexpected color choice to the classic gloves and sleek hairstyle, she ended up being one of my favorites.

While peach is a hard color for some to wear, there is a shade out there for most. I’m going to have to look into a shade that suits me!

If you’re in a peachy-keen mood, Shop Style has a variety from different designers at different prices. One of our favorite designers, ZAIMARA also has a beautiful flowy maxi for inspiration.

My Other Win Is…

… Jennifer Aniston in a bias-cut satin dress.

Vintage Dior and Jennifer were a match made in style heaven! She kept it sleek and minimal pairing the dress with a simple hairstyle, dangling earrings and a ring. Jennifer made sure the focus was directly on how incredible she looked in this dress. It fit her perfectly, which is what made this 90s style work so well, in my opinion. Not many can wear form-fitting satin and look so good doing it!

I love a white dress for many occasions. I’m also one of the people that believe in wearing white whatever time of year you want. The only time I caution against wearing white is to a wedding unless the bride says it’s okay.

If you’re like me and into white at any time, check out the white maxi at The Style Escape or the ones offered from ZAIMARA.
